1. Adam Gaston – ‘Jet Turbine Skates’.

Adam from Avondale thought the Coyote chasing the Roadrunner had the right idea, it just needed to be tested out on ice skates for real. With the help of a few ‘Rocket Scientists’, Adam builds a pair of real jet powered ice skates. “No effort required with these forms of transportation!” All he has to do is find someone crazy enough to test them. Can’t be that hard after all it’s not Rocket science? These are jet turbines! Don’t miss this one, the first amazing episode of this wild show and the first ever successful official jet powered ice skates test run on Let’s Get Inventin’.

2. Sarah Trass – ‘Thief Proof Cray pot’.

Annoyed that her Dad was always getting his Cray fish stolen from his pots out at sea, Sara from Whangarei decided to invent a crayfish pot that would prevent those pesky thieves from stealing her Dad’s favorite catch. Sam Britten and the team help Sara with her prototype and test the invention for the first time on the open seas. If the invention works Sara’s challenge is to eat crayfish for the first time in her life!

3. Alex Drinkwater – ‘Walking Cell Charger'.

Live wire ‘Brightspark’ Alex from Oraki had energy to burn. He figured he could wire some of his bodies own power into a cell phone and It would never need recharging again. Sam Britten and Alex climb the Auckland Sky tower to see just how much power they can generate. Then climb the Auckland Harbor Bridge to order Pizza from his fully charged cell phone. Alex gives new meaning to the term  ‘Walkie Talkie’ and even has the Telco giant - Telecom interested in his gizmo!

4. Kristen Thomsen  - ‘Auto Dog Walker'.

The trouble with dogs is, you have to walk them! Not if you’ve invented the world’s first robot dog walking machine. Kristen from Darfield invents a machine to her walk, talk to and see her dog by remote control, all from the comfort of her living room, in front of TV at home. Sounds crazy but Sam and Kristin’s challenge is to build this crazy thing and walk her dog for a full hour!

5. Jason Wordsworth – ‘Watergate'.

Jason from Kamo’s Dad always made him get out in the rain to open the gates on his farm. So Jason invented his own automatically opening gate powered buy water. Jason’s got one day to build his invention from scratch and see if the hardest farmer in Northland will have a bar of it. If he can prove there is a market for it and it’s cheap enough the local gate dealer might even take it on as a product.

6. John Shen – ‘Sweetfeet’.

Johns’ Mum’s stinky feet inspired him to invent shoes with a built in air conditioning system. John’s challenge is to build these electric sneakers and big time rapper King Capese is going to test them out during one of his hottest recording sessions! No pressure John. All you have to do is survive a big sniff of the King’s feet without causing a stink and prove your invention works.

7. Kharn Gedge – ‘Snow Scooter'.

Kharn didn’t see much point in queuing for ski lifts when you could invent a snowboard with it’s own motor. Canadian snow bike stunt legend ‘Crusty Demon’ Jimmy Baze drops in to lend a few pointers and help Khan build his demented snow monster.

8. Jessie Lineham – ‘Silent Hairdryer'.

Annoyed with the ringing in her ears from the noisy hairdryer Jessie has an idea for a silencer that will reduce the noise to a legal level. Once built her challenge is to test it out on celebrity Asia Rock in Paul Sevilles’ glamorous salon.

9. Sam Sincair – ‘Lacer Clips’.

Sam from Pukekohe worked on his Dad’s dairy farm and always liked the simplicity of gumboots. He invented a way to turn any old lace-up shoe into a slip-on with his an ingenious contraption. With the help of top jeweler Graham Shirley and designs from Illicit clothing on K Rd. Sam produced a Bling set of ‘Lacers’ that is sure to become the next coolest fashion accessory.

10. Isabella Coventry – ‘Chord Companion'.

Isabella can do many things but she can’t play the guitar. No problem! She has invented a robot chord player adaptor with a computer brain that can play the tricky chords of any song for her. All she has to do is strum. Kiwi rock icon, Chris Knocks lends her a hand and a song to play. Isabella ends up playing live to an audience on stage with Chris Knocks at his next big gig!

11. Robert Wilson – ‘Anti-Nervous Glasses'.

Like most people Richard has a morbid fear of public speaking. There’s an invention for every problem so Richard created a device that turns. No stage nerves when your audience is monkeys, seals, elephants and giraffes. Sounds crazy but top public speaker Sir Richard Hadley and even Jason Gunn drop in to share their stage nerve advice and try out Robert’s ingenious spectacles that save the wearer from becoming a spectacle.

12. Rory Shillington – ‘Car Coffee’.

Rory 17 from Palmerston North used to wonder what ever happened to all that heat coming out of a car’s engine? Wouldn’t it be nice to have a nice hot cup of cocoa or Coffee whilst driving? With the help of Atomic Coffee brewers and local hotrod mechanic Chris Piagi Rory builds the worlds’ first coffee machine powered by the heat from a V-8 engine. His challenge, to sell his V-8 coffee to the droves of petrolheads at the Pukekohe Hotrod show.

13. Ben Attwood – ‘Super Bowl'.

Like most men, Ben form Palmerston North used to always get it from his Mum and sisters about how he left the toilet seat up after going ‘number ones’. Keen to rid his life and the rest of manhood of this eternal problem, Ben invented a simple device to end this dispute of the sexes once and for all. Ben not only builds a working prototype he tests it out on the world interviewing every nationality about this truly global phenomenon. Ben finds a market for his ‘Kidtraption’ and even pitches it to our leading toilet companies. Seems the Ladies and Men will have to find something else to argue about now that the world has Ben’s ingenious ‘Superbowl’.

14. Natalie Crimp – ‘UV Sensor'.

Natelie from Christchurch wanted to tackle one of New Zealand’s most grave problems. Skin Cancer. Not a cure for cancer exactly but this invention could certainly prevent it. Natelie has used her knowledge of chemicals to invent a sticker that pops when you have had enough exposure to UV light. If the sticker was cool enough kids would enjoy wearing it and then know to get out of the sun when it goes off, a bit like a chicken roast timer. Natelie even takes her idea to The Cancer Society and 3M Innovation to see if they will take it on.

15. Josh Murphy – ‘Lazy Boy'.

Josh from Glenn Innes is never happier than when he’s kicking back on the sofa watching TV or playing playstation. The problem is at some stage he has to get up to eat or go to school. Problem solved with Josh’s own ‘Very Lazy Boy’ Powered Lazy Boy chair with built in DVD, Playstation, fridge and intercom to call Mum and order dinner. Josh not only has to build this shine to couch potatoes but his challenge is to spend a whole school day without getting out of it including math class, rugby practice and lead role in the school play Oliver! All this while Sam Britten and ‘Rocketman’  Bruce Simpson have plans to launch this Lazyboy into hyperspace with a supersonic Jet motor!

16. William Francis – ‘Pogobike'.

William from Rotorua liked pogoing and he loved his bike. So he thought why not combine the two into a brand new extreme adventure sport? Pogo-biking. William builds his dream machine, adds extra gas-powered bounce with the help of some pneumatics and prepares to meet his challenge to ride his hopping ‘Kidtraption’ to school and inventive fame and glory.

17. Emily Cooper – ‘Downpipe Denominator'.

Emily felt all the rain we had in Auckland could be put to a good use so she invented a drainpipe generator. We worked out that if every house in the country had one we could actually generate some serious power. We tested the theory and Emily’s gadget generated enough power to run her very own toilet de-stinker in the bathroom.

18. Ben Currie – ‘Bush Balloon'.

Ben from Whau Valley was thinking of saving lives when he dreamed up his mini bush balloon devise. A simple helium canister releases a rescue balloon that can be easily spotted by rescue personnel. Sam Britten and Ben get lost in the bush just to see if the Westpac rescue team can find them. Be watching to see if this thing really does work or is full of hot air.

19. Mathew Selles – ‘Hovercraft'.

Mathew is from Auckland and he had built a simple hovercraft using his Dad’s leaf blower. Sam Britten and ‘Rocketman’ Bruce Simpson get busy and help Mathew build a supersonic jet-powered hover skateboard inspired by the movie ‘Back to the Future’. No friction, a massive pulse jet thruster, rope steering and NO BRAKES?! Who will test this crazy contraption? Son of motorbike legend Sam Britten is up for that task. This episode will have you all hovering on the edge of your seat.

20. Krystal Cook – ‘Woodcutting Machine'

It gets pretty cold in Hastings and Krystal Cooks’ Dad has a lot of wood to chop every year. Krystal took pity on her poor Dad but still thought he could do with the work-out. Her solution – an automatic exercise wood chopping machine. Get fit and keep the family warm at the same time! With and idea so strong Crystal had no problem convincing heavyweights, rugby legend Joana Loumu and world boxing champion David Tua to test out her prototype.

21. Kyle White – ‘Fish tank Belt'

Kyle from Temuka felt sorry for his pet fish sitting on the TV looking at the same on wall paper all day. His solution – a Fish tank belt so he could take little ‘Spashy’ everywhere he went and never be lonely ever again. With some expert advise from The Kelly Tarltons Aquarium, Kyle makes his idea a reality and his creation (and Splashy) even get accepted into the Wearable Arts Award opening in Wellington.

22. Ethan Hunter – ‘Mossbot'

Ethan from Clevdon had the nasty job of scraping the moss from his Dad’s driveway. With his Lego set he invented a robot that could do it for him while he sat back and ate cake. Ethan’s Moss-Bot got a little ‘Terminator’ on him and he found a far more effective use for his idea spraying paint and the logos onto rugby pitches for Eden Park. Ethan tells the world about his contraption by using it to paint his name in letters five feet high on the middle of the hallowed ground of Eden Park! Rugby legend Grant Fox is quite impressed.

23. Justin & Brendon Port – ‘Quad'

What would the world be like if someone had not invented the wheel? Justin and Brendan Port of Glenfield wondered and decided to invent a six legged walking car to prove that wheels are just overrated. In three days they did and proved a point by waling their giant two man Ant-Beast down Queen Street on a Friday night. The cars of the wheeled variety were stopped in their tracks whilst this legged kind stomped ahead.

24. Brittany Smith-Frank – ‘Magic Gadget'

Brittany of Tauranga used to be terrified of that horrible noise that the bathplug makes when it empties out. She knew plenty of other toddlers that felt the same so she set out inventing a contraption that would quell that beastie down the plughole. ‘The Magic Gadget Drain Goblin’ is a bath toy, a plug and a silencer all in one. Brittany builds her dream, testes it and creates a hit advertising campaign for her product with the help of top Ad guys at Saachi and Saachi and radio station bFM.

25. Recap Show – Peoples Choice.

26. Grand Prize show – The $10,000 Patent Prize Package.

In the final episode Luke Nola presents the top four contestants to the judges who will hear the young inventors who are given just one minute to pitch their invention vision. What they imagine their invention could become with the right support and what they intend to do with the $10,000 Patent Prize Package donated by A J Park and The Icehouse Business Incubator. Patent attorney and partner of A J Park, Anton Blijlevens is judge along with Duncan Ledwith from the Icehouse Accelerator business development group, also donating part of the Patent Prize Package. Based on the presentation one lucky young inventor will be presented with a cheque from the Prime Minister in front of a live studio audience.
